What You Will Learn
Preparing to respond and assessing emergency situations Understanding the EMS system and effective communication with EMS personnel Applying the Check-Call-Care emergency response model Handling airway, breathing, and circulation emergencies Performing CPR and using AEDs for adults, children, and infants Managing wound care, bleeding control, and shock Assessing and treating head, neck, and spinal injuries Responding to bone, muscle, and joint injuries Recognizing and managing sudden medical emergencies Addressing environmental emergencies (Course content guided by Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid curricula and WorkSafeBC requirements.)
Certification
Participants receive a Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C certificate valid for 3 years upon successful completion.
