How does the blended learning format work?

The blended format combines 2–4 hours of self-paced online pre-learning with a full 8-hour in-person skills session at our Coquitlam facility. You must complete the online portion before attending the classroom session on September 25, 2026.

What should I bring to the Coquitlam training center?

Please bring a piece of government-issued photo ID, proof of your online module completion, and wear comfortable clothing as you will be performing hands-on skills like CPR and floor-based assessments.

Is there parking available at the training location?

Yes, there is free on-site parking available at Metro Safety Training (914 Sherwood Ave) for all students attending the course.

How long is my Standard First Aid certification valid?

This certification is valid for 3 years from the date of completion. You will receive same-day digital access to your Canadian Red Cross certificate via the Red Cross portal.

What You Will Learn

This course covers a wide range of emergency scenarios and life-saving techniques, including:

CPR & AED: High-quality CPR and AED operation for adults, children, and infants.
Trauma Care: Managing severe bleeding, tourniquet application, burns, and head/spine injuries.
Medical Emergencies: Recognizing heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and diabetic emergencies.
Environmental Hazards: Treating heat stroke, hypothermia, and poisoning.
Patient Assessment: Primary and secondary assessments using the SAMPLE history framework.

Who Should Attend?

This course is ideal for teachers, daycare workers, coaches, healthcare support staff (PSWs), and community volunteers who require a 3-year certification.
