About This Course
Comprehensive Standard First Aid Training in Coquitlam
Join Metro Safety Training on February 6, 2027, for our Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid (Intermediate First Aid) course. This comprehensive program is designed for individuals who require a high level of first aid knowledge for their workplace, school, or personal preparedness. Our training facility is located at 914 Sherwood Ave, Coquitlam, BC. You can find directions via Google Maps here.
Course Schedule and Format
This is a blended learning course, which combines the flexibility of online theory with the necessity of hands-on practice. The in-person skills day runs from 08:30 AM to 04:30 PM (PST). Before attending, students must complete 2–4 hours of online pre-learning. This allows us to focus the classroom time on life-saving practical skills.

What You Will Learn
Students will gain the confidence to handle a wide range of emergency situations. The curriculum includes:
- CPR & AED: High-quality CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants, and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator.
- Trauma Care: Managing severe bleeding (including tourniquet application), burns, and head or spinal injuries.
- Medical Emergencies: Recognizing and treating heart attacks, strokes, anaphylaxis, and diabetic emergencies.
- Environmental Emergencies: Responding to heat stroke, hypothermia, and poisoning.

This course is ideal for teachers, daycare workers, coaches, healthcare support workers, and anyone needing a 3-year Red Cross certification.
