    Course Schedule & Requirements

    The in-person skills assessment runs from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM PST. As this is a blended format course, students are required to complete 2-4 hours of online pre-learning modules prior to the event date. This allows us to focus the classroom time on hands-on practical skills like CPR, wound care, and medical emergency response.

    What You Will Learn

    Participants will gain the confidence to handle a wide variety of emergency situations. The curriculum includes:

    • CPR & AED: High-quality CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants, and automated external defibrillator (AED) operation.
    • Trauma Care: Managing severe bleeding, tourniquet application, and treatment for thermal, chemical, or electrical burns.
    • Medical Emergencies: Recognizing signs of heart attack, stroke (FAST), anaphylaxis, and diabetic emergencies.
    • Environmental & Injury Management: Treating heat stroke, hypothermia, and stabilizing head, neck, or spinal injuries.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is ideal for teachers, daycare providers, coaches, healthcare support workers, and anyone required by their employer to hold a valid Standard First Aid certificate. Graduates receive a Canadian Red Cross 3-year certification.
