    What You Will Learn

    This 14-hour intensive course is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to manage high-hazard workplace emergencies. The curriculum covers:

    • Life-Threatening Emergencies: Massive bleeding control, tourniquet application, and management of internal bleeding.
    • Respiratory & Circulatory Care: Two-person CPR, AED operation, and treating penetrating chest wounds (pneumothorax).
    • Trauma Management: Immobilization of major fractures, dislocations, and spinal injury management.
    • Medical & Environmental: Assessment of major burns using the "rule of nines," hypothermia, heatstroke, diabetic emergencies, and stroke recognition.

    Who Should Attend?

    This certification is essential for designated first aid attendants at moderate-to-high hazard workplaces with 20 or more workers, as required by WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A. It is highly recommended for professionals in construction, forestry, manufacturing, and warehousing across Coquitlam, Surrey, Richmond, and Vancouver.
