Professional Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training in Coquitlam
Join Metro Safety Training for our comprehensive Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This WorkSafeBC-approved program is scheduled for March 16 - 17, 2027, running from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day. The training takes place at our central facility located at Metro Safety Training, 914 Sherwood Ave, Coquitlam, BC V3K 1A6.

What You Will Learn
This 14-hour, two-day program is designed for attendants at moderate-to-high hazard workplaces. Students will gain hands-on experience in:
- Life-Threatening Emergencies: Managing flail chest, pneumothorax, and sucking chest wounds.
- Bleeding Control: Application of tourniquets, managing internal bleeding, and treating hypovolemic shock.
- Patient Assessment: Utilizing the Priority Action Approach (PAA) and conducting primary/secondary surveys.
- Trauma Care: Immobilization of major fractures and dislocations, and managing spinal injuries.
- Environmental & Medical: Treating heatstroke, hypothermia, burns (Rule of Nines), diabetic emergencies, and stroke.
Who Should Attend?
This course is essential for workers in construction, forestry, warehousing, and manufacturing across the Lower Mainland, including Surrey, Richmond, and Vancouver. It is specifically required for workplaces where the hazard rating or worker count exceeds the requirements for Basic First Aid under WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A.
