About This Course
WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training in Coquitlam
Join Metro Safety Training on May 25 - 26, 2027, for our WorkSafeBC-approved Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course. Formerly known as OFA Level 2, this comprehensive 14-hour program is delivered over two days at our professional training facility located at 914 Sherwood Ave, Coquitlam, BC V3K 1A6. Comprehensive Occupational Training
This course is designed for first aid attendants working in moderate-to-high hazard workplaces, such as construction, forestry, and manufacturing. Unlike basic courses, the Intermediate First Aid curriculum goes into significant depth regarding patient care. Students will learn to manage critical emergencies including chest injuries (pneumothorax and flail chest), life-threatening bleeding requiring tourniquets, spinal management, and major burns using the "rule of nines."

What You Will Learn

Who Should Attend?
This certification is required by WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A for workplaces with higher worker counts or hazard ratings. It is an ideal step up for workers currently holding Basic First Aid (OFA 1) or for those entering industrial roles in the Lower Mainland. We proudly serve students from Coquitlam, Surrey, Richmond, and Vancouver. There are no prerequisites for this course; however, participants must be physically capable of performing CPR and patient immobilization techniques.
Certification Details
