This WorkSafeBC-approved program is essential for designated first aid attendants in moderate-to-high hazard workplaces. What You Will Learn
Building on foundational life-saving skills, this 14-hour, two-day program provides in-depth training for higher-hazard situations. The curriculum includes:
- Module 1: Priority Action Approach, two-person CPR with AED, and primary/secondary surveys.
- Module 2: Management of chest injuries (pneumothorax), massive bleeding control with tourniquets, and shock treatment.
- Module 3: Immobilization of major fractures, environmental emergencies (heatstroke/hypothermia), and burn assessment.
- Module 4: Medical emergencies including strokes, seizures, and diabetic crises.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for individuals working in construction, forestry, manufacturing, or warehousing where WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A requires an Intermediate attendant. It is also ideal for remote workplace employees located more than 30 minutes from ambulance services. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate valid for 3 years.
