WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training in Surrey
Elevate your workplace safety skills with Metro Safety’s Intermediate First Aid (IFA) training, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This comprehensive two-day course is scheduled for March 4-5, 2027, at our dedicated training hub, Metro Safety Surrey.
Located at 15685 Fraser Hwy #4a, Surrey, BC V4N 0Y6, our facility provides the ideal environment for professional development. The course runs from 7:30 AM PST to 3:30 PM PST each day. With a focused class capacity, students receive personalized instruction and ample hands-on practice time with modern medical equipment.
Comprehensive Curriculum & Certification
This 14-hour WorkSafeBC-approved program is essential for attendants at moderate-to-high hazard workplaces. Participants will gain mastery in life-saving techniques, including:
- Advanced Assessment: Priority Action Approach (PAA) and secondary surveys.
- Critical Interventions: Two-person CPR, AED operation, and tourniquet application for life-threatening bleeding.
- Trauma Management: Care for chest injuries (pneumothorax), spinal injuries, and major fractures.
- Environmental & Medical: Managing heatstroke, hypothermia, burns (rule of nines), and diabetic emergencies.

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for individuals in construction, manufacturing, and warehousing, or those working at remote sites more than 30 minutes from an ambulance. It is the required standard for designated first aid attendants under WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate, valid for three years.
