    What You Will Learn

    Building on fundamental skills, this course provides in-depth training for managing critical workplace emergencies. Participants will gain hands-on experience in:

    • Advanced Assessment: Applying the Priority Action Approach (PAA) and conducting primary/secondary surveys.
    • Life-Saving Interventions: Two-person CPR, AED operation, and tourniquet application for life-threatening bleeding.
    • Trauma Management: Treating flail chest, pneumothorax, penetrating wounds, and managing spinal or musculoskeletal injuries.
    • Environmental & Medical Emergencies: Recognizing symptoms of heatstroke, hypothermia, diabetic emergencies, and stroke.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is designed for individuals designated as workplace first aid attendants under WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation Schedule 3-A. It is ideal for construction crews, forestry workers, and industrial staff in Surrey, Richmond, and Vancouver who require a certification that exceeds the Basic First Aid level. Upon successful completion, students receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate, valid for three years.
