What You Will Learn
The Intermediate First Aid curriculum provides in-depth training for high-pressure medical emergencies. Participants will gain mastery in:
- Priority Action Approach (PAA) and scene assessment
- Two-person CPR and AED operation
- Management of chest injuries (pneumothorax, flail chest)
- Massive bleeding control, including tourniquet application
- Spinal, fracture, and dislocation immobilization
- Environmental emergencies and major burn assessment
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for workers designated as first aid attendants under WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation Schedule 3-A. It is ideal for construction site leads, industrial supervisors, and those in remote workplaces more than 30 minutes from ambulance services. Upon successful completion, students receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate, valid for three years.
