    WorkSafeBC-Approved Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training

    Join Metro Safety Training for our comprehensive Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This WorkSafeBC-approved program is essential for designated first aid attendants working in moderate-to-high hazard environments across British Columbia, including construction sites, manufacturing plants, and warehouses.

    The training will be held at our central training facility located at 920 Derwent Way, Delta, BC V3M 5R1 (serving Coquitlam and the Greater Vancouver area). You can find our location and get directions via Google Maps here. The course runs from February 18 to February 19, 2027, with daily sessions starting at 8:30 AM and concluding at 4:30 PM PST.

    What You Will Learn

    This 14-hour, two-day intensive program provides in-depth training on life-saving techniques and patient care. Key modules include:

    • Trauma Management: Handling chest injuries (flail chest, pneumothorax), internal bleeding, and the proper use of tourniquets.
    • Airway & Circulatory Care: Two-person CPR, AED operation, and managing fluid airway obstructions.
    • Musculoskeletal & Environmental: Immobilizing fractures, treating major burns using the "rule of nines," and managing heat- or cold-related emergencies.
    • Medical Emergencies: Recognizing and responding to strokes, seizures, and diabetic emergencies.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is designed for workers at moderate-to-high hazard workplaces with 20 or more employees, or remote sites located more than 30 minutes from ambulance services. It is the ideal next step for those looking to increase their workplace responsibilities. Upon successful completion, participants receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate valid for 3 years.
