    WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) in Surrey, BC

    Get certified with Metro Safety Training’s WorkSafeBC-approved Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This comprehensive two-day program is designed for workplace first aid attendants in moderate-to-high hazard industries such as construction, manufacturing, and forestry. This session will be held at our Metro Safety Surrey campus located at 15685 Fraser Hwy #4a, Surrey, BC V4N 0Y6.

    What You Will Learn

    Our expert instructors use a hands-on approach to ensure you are confident in life-saving techniques. Over the 14-hour duration, students will master:

    • Priority Action Approach (PAA) for scene assessment
    • Two-person CPR and AED operation
    • Management of chest injuries (pneumothorax, flail chest)
    • Tourniquet application and internal bleeding control
    • Management of fractures, dislocations, and spinal injuries
    • Environmental emergencies including heatstroke and hypothermia

    Certification & Compliance

    Upon successful completion of the continuous evaluation and written exam, students receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate valid for 3 years. This certification meets the requirements for Schedule 3-A of the OHS Regulation. There are no prerequisites for this course; you do not need to hold a Basic First Aid (OFA 1) certificate before registering.

    This course is ideal for designated first aid attendants at workplaces with 20 or more workers, or sites located more than 30 minutes from a hospital.
