Professional Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training in Coquitlam
Join Metro Safety Training for our Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This WorkSafeBC-approved program is essential for first aid attendants working in moderate-to-high hazard workplaces, including construction, manufacturing, and warehousing across the Lower Mainland.

What You Will Learn
Over 14 hours of instruction, students will gain the skills necessary to manage high-stress medical emergencies. The curriculum includes:
- Advanced Assessment: Priority Action Approach (PAA), primary and secondary surveys, and transport decisions.
- Critical Interventions: Two-person CPR with AED, airway management, and tourniquet application for life-threatening bleeding.
- Trauma Management: Treating chest injuries (pneumothorax), spinal injuries, major fractures, and dislocations.
- Environmental & Medical: Managing hypothermia, heatstroke, burns (rule of nines), diabetic emergencies, and strokes.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for workers at sites with 20+ employees or high-hazard environments located more than 30 minutes from ambulance services. It is the ideal certification for those in Surrey, Richmond, and Vancouver looking to advance their safety credentials. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate, valid for 3 years.
