    Professional Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training in Coquitlam

    Join Metro Safety Training on February 4 - 5, 2027, for our WorkSafeBC-approved Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This intensive 14-hour program is designed for workplace first aid attendants who require a higher level of competency to manage moderate-to-high hazard environments.

    What You Will Learn

    This two-day course provides deep technical knowledge and practical skills for occupational patient care. Students will gain hands-on experience in:

    • Priority Action Approach (PAA): Mastering scene assessment and primary/secondary surveys.
    • Life-Threatening Emergencies: Managing flail chest, pneumothorax, and sucking chest wounds.
    • Circulatory Control: Massive bleeding management, including internal bleeding and tourniquet application.
    • Trauma & Environmental: Immobilizing fractures/dislocations and treating heat/cold-related injuries.
    • Medical Emergencies: Responding to strokes, seizures, and diabetic emergencies.

    Who Should Attend?

    This certification is essential for first aid attendants in construction, forestry, warehousing, and manufacturing. It is specifically required for workplaces where the hazard rating and worker count exceed the limits for Basic First Aid under WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate valid for three years.
