What You Will Learn
This course provides in-depth training for attendants at moderate-to-high hazard workplaces. Throughout the two-day session, students will master critical life-saving skills, including:
- Advanced Assessment: Priority Action Approach (PAA) and primary/secondary surveys.
- Life-Threatening Emergencies: Massive bleeding control using tourniquets and managing hypovolemic shock.
- Respiratory & Chest Trauma: Treatment for flail chest, pneumothorax, and sucking chest wounds.
- Cardiac Care: Professional two-person CPR and AED operation.
- Trauma Management: Spinal immobilization, fracture management, and dislocation care.
- Environmental & Medical: Managing heat/cold emergencies, major burns (Rule of Nines), diabetic emergencies, and strokes.

This course is designed for individuals designated as first aid attendants in industries such as construction, forestry, manufacturing, and warehousing. It is specifically required by WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A for workplaces with higher hazard ratings or larger crew sizes. Certification Details
