    Join Metro Safety Training for our comprehensive Intermediate First Aid (formerly OFA Level 2) course on January 26 - 27, 2027. This 14-hour, two-day program is essential for first aid attendants working in moderate-to-high hazard workplaces, including construction, warehousing, and light manufacturing throughout Surrey and the Lower Mainland.

    What You Will Learn

    Participants will gain the skills necessary to manage major workplace trauma and medical emergencies. The curriculum includes:

    • Advanced Lifesaving: Two-person CPR, AED operation, and airway management.
    • Trauma Care: Management of chest injuries (pneumothorax), internal bleeding, and the application of tourniquets.
    • Injury Management: Immobilization of major fractures, dislocations, and spinal care.
    • Environmental & Medical: Treating heatstroke, hypothermia, major burns, seizures, and stroke.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is designed for workers at sites with 20+ employees or high-hazard ratings as defined by WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate, which is valid for three years. There are no prerequisites to enroll, though students must be physically capable of performing CPR and patient scenarios.
