    Professional Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training in Coquitlam

    Advance your workplace safety skills with Metro Safety Training’s Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This WorkSafeBC-approved program is essential for individuals working in moderate-to-high hazard industries such as construction, manufacturing, and forestry, or for those at remote worksites. Our two-day, 14-hour intensive training provides the practical skills needed to manage complex medical emergencies until professional help arrives.

    What You Will Learn

    Guided by expert instructors with real-world emergency response experience, you will master advanced life-saving techniques, including:

    • Priority Action Approach (PAA): Conducting primary and secondary surveys.
    • Trauma Management: Treating chest injuries (pneumothorax), internal bleeding, and using tourniquets.
    • Life Support: Two-person CPR and AED operation.
    • Injury Care: Immobilizing fractures, dislocations, and spinal management.
    • Environmental Emergencies: Managing heatstroke, hypothermia, and major burns.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is designed for designated workplace first aid attendants, safety representatives, and workers in high-hazard environments. It is the required standard under WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A for many industrial and construction sites in British Columbia. No prerequisites are required to join.
