    Professional Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training in Coquitlam

    Join Metro Safety Training for our WorkSafeBC-approved Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This comprehensive two-day program is scheduled for January 7 - 8, 2027, running from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM PST each day. Our training facility is centrally located in Coquitlam, providing easy access for students traveling from Surrey, Richmond, Vancouver, and Burnaby.

    What You Will Learn

    This 14-hour certification course provides in-depth training for higher-hazard workplace environments. Participants will gain mastery in:

    • Advanced Life Support: Two-person CPR and AED operation, and managing fluid airway obstructions.
    • Trauma Management: Treatment for penetrating chest wounds, flail chest, and pneumothorax.
    • Critical Interventions: Proper application of tourniquets for life-threatening bleeding and shock management.
    • Injury Care: Immobilizing major fractures, managing burns using the 'rule of nines,' and treating environmental emergencies like heatstroke and hypothermia.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is designed for designated first aid attendants at moderate-to-high hazard workplaces (such as construction, forestry, or warehousing) with 20 or more workers. It is also essential for remote worksites located more than 30 minutes from ambulance services. No prior first aid certification (like BFA/OFA 1) is required to enroll.

    Certification and Registration

    Upon successful completion, students will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate, valid for 3 years. This certificate is recognized across British Columbia and satisfies Schedule 3-A of the OHS Regulation. Spaces are limited to 8 participants to ensure high-quality, hands-on instruction.
