Join Metro Safety Training for our comprehensive Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This two-day, 14-hour program is designed for workplace first aid attendants who need to meet WorkSafeBC compliance under Schedule 3-A of the OHS Regulation. Whether you work in construction, manufacturing, or warehousing, this certification is essential for high-hazard environments or remote jobsites.

What You Will Learn
This course moves beyond basic first aid to cover advanced life-saving techniques. Participants will engage in hands-on scenarios and continuous evaluation led by experienced WorkSafeBC-approved instructors. Key modules include:
- Trauma Management: Handling chest injuries (pneumothorax), massive bleeding control, and tourniquet application.
- Patient Care: Applying the Priority Action Approach (PAA) and performing two-person CPR with AED usage.
- Specialized Response: Managing spinal injuries, musculoskeletal trauma, and environmental emergencies like hypothermia or heatstroke.
- Medical Emergencies: Recognition of strokes, seizures, and diabetic emergencies.
Certification and Registration
Upon successful completion of the course and the final written exam, students will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate, valid for three years. This certificate is recognized across British Columbia for workplace safety compliance. Space is limited to 12 students per session to ensure personalized instruction.
