    Join Metro Safety Training for a comprehensive Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This two-day, 14-hour certification program is designed for workers in British Columbia who require a higher level of first aid competency as mandated by WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulation Schedule 3-A.

    This specific session will be held at our central training facility located in Coquitlam. Our classroom is situated on Lougheed Highway, providing easy access for students traveling from Surrey, Richmond, Vancouver, and Burnaby.     What You Will Learn

    Led by professional WorkSafeBC-approved instructors, this course utilizes continuous evaluation and hands-on practice. The curriculum covers a broad range of life-saving skills and occupational patient care, including:

    • Priority Action Approach (PAA): Scene assessment and primary/secondary surveys.
    • Life-Threatening Emergencies: Mastery of two-person CPR, AED operation, and massive bleeding control using tourniquets.
    • Trauma Management: Care for chest injuries (pneumothorax), spinal immobilization, and major fracture management.
    • Environmental & Medical: Treatment for hypothermia, heatstroke, burns (Rule of Nines), diabetic emergencies, and stroke.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is essential for first aid attendants working in moderate-to-high hazard workplaces (such as construction, forestry, or manufacturing) with 20 or more employees. It is also highly recommended for workers at remote jobsites located more than 30 minutes from ambulance services. No prerequisites are required to join this course.
