Intermediate First Aid - November 26 - 27, 2026

This intensive 14-hour program is designed for workplace first aid attendants who need to manage higher-hazard environments. Participants will gain hands-on experience in:

• Advanced Trauma Care: Management of chest injuries (pneumothorax), internal bleeding, and tourniquet application.
• Life Support: Two-person CPR and AED operation for adults.
• Patient Assessment: Utilizing the Priority Action Approach (PAA) and conducting thorough primary and secondary surveys.
• Medical Emergencies: Recognizing and treating strokes, seizures, diabetic emergencies, and environmental injuries like heatstroke or hypothermia.
• Immobilization: Managing spinal injuries and stabilizing major fractures or dislocations.

This course is essential for first aid attendants working in moderate-to-high hazard industries such as construction, forestry, manufacturing, and warehousing. It is specifically required for sites that exceed the worker count thresholds defined in WorkSafeBC's Schedule 3-A. Whether you are commuting from Surrey, Richmond, Vancouver, or Burnaby, our Coquitlam classroom offers a central location with professional, experienced instructors.

Certification Details

Upon successful completion and continuous evaluation over the two-day period, students will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate. This certification is valid for three years and is recognized across British Columbia. Please note that government-issued photo ID is mandatory for registration on the first day.
