    Join Metro Safety Training for our Intermediate First Aid (formerly OFA Level 2) course on November 24-25, 2026. This comprehensive 14-hour program is delivered over two consecutive days at our professional training center located at 914 Sherwood Ave, Coquitlam, BC V3K 1A6. Classes run from 08:30 AM to 04:30 PM (PST) each day.

    What You Will Learn

    Guided by WorkSafeBC-approved instructors, students will master advanced life-saving techniques including:

    • Airway & CPR: Two-person CPR, AED operation, and managing fluid airway obstructions.
    • Trauma Management: Treatment for flail chest, pneumothorax, penetrating wounds, and tourniquet application.
    • Medical Emergencies: Recognition of diabetic emergencies, strokes, seizures, and hypovolemic shock.
    • Environmental & Burns: Treatment for hypothermia, heatstroke, and assessing burns using the "rule of nines."
    • Patient Care: Spinal management, immobilization of fractures, and making critical transport decisions.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is essential for first aid attendants working in moderate-to-high hazard workplaces (such as construction, forestry, or manufacturing) with 20 or more workers. It is also the required standard for remote jobsites located more than 30 minutes from ambulance services. Whether you are coming from Surrey, Richmond, or Vancouver, our central Coquitlam location offers easy access and high-quality instruction to ensure you meet WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation Schedule 3-A requirements.

    Certification Details

    Upon successful completion of the continuous evaluation and the written exam, participants will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate valid for three years. Your certificate will be issued in your legal name and mailed directly to your home address by WorkSafeBC.
