The Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2 equivalent) course is held at Metro Safety Training, located at 914 Sherwood Ave, Coquitlam, BC V3K 1A6. We offer free on-site parking for all students, and the location is easily accessible from Highway 1.

How long is the certification valid for?

Intermediate First Aid (formerly OFA Level 2) certification is valid for three years from the date of issue. Upon successful completion of the two-day course and examinations, you will receive your WorkSafeBC recognized certificate.

Do I need to take Basic First Aid before I can take the Intermediate course?

No. There are no prerequisites for Intermediate First Aid—you do not need to hold a Basic First Aid (OFA 1) certificate first. However, you must be at least 16 years old and physically capable of performing CPR and patient immobilization.

Is Intermediate First Aid the same as OFA Level 2?

Yes. WorkSafeBC renamed Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA 2) to Intermediate First Aid in 2024. The course content, 14-hour duration, and 3-year certification validity remain identical to the previous OFA 2 standards.
