WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) in Coquitlam
Get certified with Metro Safety Training's WorkSafeBC-approved Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This comprehensive 14-hour program is delivered over two days at our professional training facility located at Metro Safety Training, 914 Sherwood Ave, Coquitlam, BC V3K 1A6. Our location is centrally situated to serve students from across the Lower Mainland, including Surrey, Richmond, and Vancouver.

What You Will Learn
The Intermediate First Aid curriculum is designed for high-hazard workplaces and industries requiring a more advanced level of care than Basic First Aid. Key modules include:
- The Priority Action Approach: Mastering scene assessment and primary/secondary surveys.
- Critical Care: Managing chest injuries (pneumothorax), massive bleeding with tourniquets, and shock.
- Trauma & Medical: Immobilizing fractures, treating major burns using the rule of nines, and managing diabetic emergencies or strokes.
- Life Support: Two-person CPR and AED operation.
Who Should Attend?
This course is essential for first aid attendants in construction, forestry, manufacturing, and warehousing, or any site designated by WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A. It is also the standard for workplaces more than 30 minutes from ambulance services. Upon successful completion, participants receive a WorkSafeBC IFA Certificate valid for 3 years.
