What You Will Learn
This WorkSafeBC-approved curriculum moves beyond basic life-saving skills to cover advanced patient care in industrial and remote settings. Students will gain hands-on experience in:
- Critical Airway & Breathing: Management of flail chest, pneumothorax, and sucking chest wounds.
- Circulatory Emergencies: Mastery of tourniquet application, internal bleeding management, and hypovolemic shock treatment.
- Advanced CPR: Two-person CPR techniques and AED operation.
- Trauma Management: Spinal immobilization and management of major fractures or dislocations.
- Environmental & Medical: Heatstroke, hypothermia, diabetic emergencies, and stroke recognition.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for individuals working in construction, forestry, manufacturing, and warehousing, particularly those at sites with 20+ workers or located more than 30 minutes from a hospital. It is the gold standard for attendants needing to meet WorkSafeBC Schedule 3-A requirements.
