This comprehensive two-day, 14-hour program is designed for individuals working in moderate-to-high hazard environments such as construction, manufacturing, and warehousing. As a WorkSafeBC-approved provider, Metro Safety Training ensures you meet all compliance requirements under Schedule 3-A of the OHS Regulation.

What You Will Learn
Building on foundational skills, this course dives deep into life-saving interventions. Key modules include:
- Advanced Assessments: The Priority Action Approach (PAA), primary and secondary surveys, and transport decision-making.
- Critical Interventions: Managing sucking chest wounds, pneumothorax, flail chest, and using tourniquets for massive hemorrhaging.
- Trauma Management: Immobilizing major fractures, dislocations, and treating spinal injuries.
- Medical Emergencies: Recognizing and responding to strokes, seizures, diabetic emergencies, and environmental injuries like hypothermia or heatstroke.
Who Should Attend?
This course is essential for designated first aid attendants at workplaces with 20 or more employees in high-hazard industries, or for those at remote sites more than 30 minutes from an ambulance. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid certificate, valid for three years.
