Professional Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training in Coquitlam
Join Metro Safety Training for our Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2, scheduled for April 27 - 28, 2026. This comprehensive 14-hour, two-day program is essential for workplace first aid attendants in British Columbia, particularly those in construction, manufacturing, and warehousing. What You Will Learn
Our WorkSafeBC-approved instructors provide hands-on training using the Priority Action Approach (PAA). Over the two-day session, participants will master:
- Two-person CPR and AED operation
- Management of chest injuries, including pneumothorax and flail chest
- Advanced bleeding control, including tourniquet application
- Assessment of major burns using the "Rule of Nines"
- Spinal management and musculoskeletal injury immobilization
- Treatment for medical emergencies such as seizures, strokes, and diabetic crises
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for individuals designated as first aid attendants at moderate-to-high hazard workplaces with 20 or more workers, or remote sites more than 30 minutes from hospital care. We regularly serve students from Coquitlam, Surrey, Richmond, and Vancouver who require WorkSafeBC-compliant certification to maintain workplace safety standards. Upon successful completion, you will receive an Intermediate First Aid certificate valid for 3 years.
