WorkSafeBC Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) Training in Coquitlam
Get certified with Metro Safety Training’s WorkSafeBC-approved Intermediate First Aid (IFA) course, formerly known as OFA Level 2. This comprehensive two-day program is scheduled for August 27-28, 2026, at our professional training center located at 914 Sherwood Ave, Coquitlam, BC V3K 1A6. Training sessions run from 08:30 AM to 04:30 PM PDT each day.
Our Coquitlam facility is centrally located to serve students from across the Lower Mainland, including Surrey, Richmond, and Vancouver. Course Curriculum & Learning Outcomes
This 14-hour certification course is designed for workplace first aid attendants in moderate-to-high hazard environments. Over two days of intensive, hands-on training, students will master:
- Life-Threatening Emergencies: Mastery of two-person CPR, AED operation, and management of massive external bleeding using tourniquets.
- Trauma Management: Treatment for chest injuries (pneumothorax/flail chest), internal bleeding, and shock.
- Musculoskeletal & Environmental: Immobilization of fractures and dislocations, as well as managing hypothermia, heatstroke, and major burns using the rule of nines.
- Medical Emergencies: Recognition and response to strokes, seizures, and diabetic emergencies.
