What You Will Learn
This 2-day intensive course goes beyond basic life support to cover critical occupational patient care. Key modules include:
- Priority Action Approach (PAA): Scene assessment and primary/secondary surveys.
- Trauma Management: Treating flail chest, sucking chest wounds, and pneumothorax.
- Hemorrhage Control: Advanced wound care and the application of tourniquets for life-threatening bleeding.
- Medical Emergencies: Recognizing and managing strokes, seizures, and diabetic emergencies.
- Environmental Injuries: Handling hypothermia, heat exhaustion, and major burns using the \"rule of nines.\"
