Designed to meet BC’s Food Safety Act requirements, this course teaches participants how to prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain rigorous safety standards in commercial kitchens. The curriculum covers:

• The Temperature Danger Zone: Keeping food safe between 4°C and 60°C.
• Personal Hygiene: Proper handwashing techniques and illness exclusion policies.
• Food Storage: Safe receiving, refrigeration organization, and FIFO rotation.
• Cross-Contamination: Separating raw and ready-to-eat foods effectively.
• Sanitization: The critical difference between cleaning and sanitizing, including correct chemical concentrations.

This course is ideal for food handlers in restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals, and schools, as well as kitchen staff, prep workers, and supervisors. Whether you are entering the industry for the first time or need to renew your 5-year certification, this course provides the recognized credentials you need.
