    What You Will Learn

    Our curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on equipment practice. Students will engage in practical exercises involving real harnesses, lanyards, and anchors. Key learning outcomes include:

    • Fall Protection Hierarchy: Understanding the order of elimination, guardrails, restraint, and arrest.
    • The ABCs of Fall Protection: Mastering Anchorages, Body support (harnesses), and Connecting means (lanyards/lifelines).
    • Clearance Calculations: Learning to calculate total fall distance to prevent contact with lower levels.
    • Equipment Inspection: Hands-on fitting and inspection of full-body harnesses and shock absorbers.
    • Fall Protection Plans: How to develop a written plan required for heights over 7.5 metres.
    • Rescue Procedures: Awareness of suspension trauma and emergency retrieval protocols.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is essential for anyone working at 3 metres or higher without guardrails, including roofers, framers, steel erectors, scaffolders, and aerial work platform operators. It is also highly recommended for Site Supervisors and Construction Safety Officers (CSOs) responsible for site oversight and safety plan development.

    Graduates will receive a WorkSafeBC-compliant Fall Protection Certificate valid for 3 years.
