What You Will Learn
Our expert instructors use a hands-on approach to ensure you leave the classroom with the confidence to act in an emergency. The curriculum follows the Red Cross \"Check, Call, Care\" framework and covers:
- Airway & Breathing: Choking procedures for adults, children, and infants.
- CPR & AED: High-quality CPR techniques and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator.
- Medical Emergencies: Recognizing signs of heart attack, stroke, anaphylaxis, and asthma.
- Trauma Care: Managing external bleeding, head and spine injuries, and environmental hazards like heat exhaustion or frostbite.
Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for coaches, teachers, childcare workers, community volunteers, and parents. It is also suitable for workplaces that require general first aid awareness but do not specifically mandate WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid (OFA) designations. Please note that students should be at least 16 years of age.
