What You Will Learn
This course follows the Red Cross Check/Call/Care framework and covers a variety of critical modules:
- Airway & Breathing: Choking procedures and CPR for adults, children, and infants.
- Cardiac Emergencies: Recognizing heart attacks and strokes, plus hands-on AED operation.
- Sudden Medical Emergencies: Managing anaphylaxis (EpiPen use), asthma, seizures, and diabetic emergencies.
- Trauma Care: Controlling external bleeding, wound dressing, and managing head or spinal injuries.
Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for individuals who require a recognized first aid certificate but do not need the full two-day Standard First Aid program. It is highly recommended for coaches, childcare workers, teachers, community volunteers, and parents. Please note that while this is a nationally recognized Red Cross credential, it is not a WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid (OFA) equivalent.
