    What You Will Learn

    The Emergency First Aid program covers the core skills necessary to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies. During this ~4.5-hour course, students will gain hands-on experience in:

    • Scene Assessment: Using the Red Cross Check/Call/Care emergency response sequence.
    • CPR & AED: Proficient technique for adults, children, and infants, including the operation of an Automated External Defibrillator.
    • Choking: Management of airway obstructions for all ages.
    • Medical Emergencies: Recognizing signs of heart attack, stroke, and anaphylaxis.
    • Trauma Care: Bleeding control, wound dressing, and managing head or spine injuries.

    Who Should Attend?

    This course is ideal for coaches, childcare workers, teachers, parents, and community volunteers. It is specifically tailored for those who require a 3-year Canadian Red Cross credential for personal preparedness or professional roles that do not strictly require a WorkSafeBC occupational designation. Participants must be at least 16 years old.
