What You Will Learn
Participants will engage in practical exercises using modern mannequins and medical equipment. The curriculum includes:
- High-performance CPR for adults, children, and infants
- Safe and effective AED operation
- Team-based resuscitation and communication strategies
- Management of conscious and unconscious choking victims
- Primary assessment and assisted ventilation using bag-valve masks (BVM)
- Special considerations including opioid emergencies and drowning
Who Should Attend?
This course is mandatory for most medical and allied-health professionals in British Columbia. This includes nursing students, EMTs, lifeguards, and search and rescue teams. Successful completion results in a Canadian Red Cross BLS certificate, valid for one year, which is issued digitally immediately following the course.
